Explore the intersection of art and nature with entomologist Dr. Douglas Tallamy

Thursday, April 20, 2023 @ 6:00 pm | Wake Forest University, Porter Byrum Welcome Center

Wild Ones @ SECCA is a four-part conversation series exploring the relationship between our health and the health of our planet through the written word, sound, and visual art. This series is presented in partnership with the Central North Carolina chapter of Wild Ones, and in conjunction with SECCA's current exhibition, Lauren Strohacker: Old Red, I know Where Thou Dwellest.

For the third installment of Wild Ones @ SECCA, entomologist Dr. Douglas Tallamy, a Lifetime Honorary Director of Wild Ones, will discuss the rich ecology of our most essential trees – the oaks. Oak trees support more species of animals, sequester more carbon, protect our wetlands, and nourish the environment more than other plant genus in North Carolina. They have also provided materials and inspiration for countless artists and creatives.
