Drop in for a unique dive into the world of poetry, in honor of National Poetry Month.

Saturday, April 27, 2024 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm | Overlook Gallery

Led by poet, performer, and SECCA Community Arts Organizer, Hausson Byrd, participants will be familiarized with erasure-style poetry, engage with poems from a diverse group of Southern artists, and create their own poems and artworks.

Also known as blackout poetry, erasure poetry is a form of found poetry made by erasing, blacking out, or rearranging words from an existing text to create an original poem. Materials will be provided, but feel free to bring magazine, newspapers, or any spare documents you don't mind being altered.

4th Saturday is a drop-in event open to all ages and creatives of all abilities.
