A STICKIT is a figurative feminine form crafted from sticks and paper; small yet exhibiting powerful rhythmic gesture and cathartic humor. During quarantine, artist Marianne DiNapoli-Mylet conjured the inner magic of solitude and the STICKIT was born.
For this workshop, DiNapoli-Mylet will share the process and techniques of creating a STICKIT of your own – instilled with your personal magic and motion.
The program will begin with a stroll through SECCA's grounds to view larger-than-life STICKIT sculptures, then participants will be encouraged to collect sticks along the way to be included in their small sculptures. To imbue your STICKIT with your own personal magic, please bring a stick, lightweight fabric, lace, or any small object to include in your sculpture.
All other materials will be included – just bring your magic.
